The Rhodes Trust was established by the Will of Cecil John Rhodes (British diamond magnate and Prime Minister from 1890 - 96 of the colony of the Cape of Good Hope) who designed his Trust to support the education of future leaders. The Rhodes Scholarship is a prestigious postgraduate award for study at the University of Oxford. It is offered annually. Candidates who demonstrate qualities including academic ability and integrity of character are selected from around the world. Rhodes Scholars are those men and women who are devoted to serving the public good by making valuable contributions to the world around them.
